T.38 Internet Aware Fax software

ITU-T T.38 recommendation specifies the communication protocol to be used between facsimile gateways or between facsimile gateways and IAF (Internet Aware Fax device) connected via an Internet network in order to transfer fax between G3FEs (Group 3 Fax Equipments) connected to facsimile gateways via PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) or between G3FEs and IAFs.

Netbricks T.38 IAF sotfware, called IAF-BRICKS, is an integrated FOIP package that includes the signaling and the fax transmission protocols required for an Internet Aware Fax (IAF) device. This ground-breaking software package can be easily integrated in FOIP-enabled software's and devices: IAF terminals, Fax Servers, IP-enabled PABX.

IAF-BRICKS is a portable software package written in 'ANSI C' language that integrates the following communication protocols:

• SIP Session Initiation Protocol as specified by IETF relevant RFCs including RFC 3362 for support of T.38 in SIP. NETBRICKS SIP protocol implementation is available as a standalone software product named SIP-BRICKS and widely used in Terminals, Servers (registrar, redirect or unified messaging servers) as well as in Proxy.

• T.38 fax over IP transport protocol as defined by ITU-T. NETBRICKS T.38 protocol is already in use in residential gateways, media gateways and fax servers.

• T.30 fax group 3 protocol supporting ECM (Error Correction Mode). NETBRICKS has an unrivaled experience of FAX group 3 protocols and solutions based on more than 15 years of business. NETBRICKS has supplied its fax technology to major leading manufacturers worldwide.

In addition IAF-BRICKS includes a coordination layer (FOIP CONTROL) that relieves application from driving protocols and dramatically accelerates time to market of innovative Fax over IP systems.

IAF-BRICKS is based on NETBRICKS architecture using object oriented design and a message passing mechanism for inter-entity communication. T38-BRICKS is designed to interface UDP or TCP/IP through BSD like Sockets. Interfaces to most of commercial OS and RTOS are provided : Windows NT/2000/XP, Linux RedHat, Embedded Linux (Monta Vista), Solaris (32/64bits), VxWorks, AMX, Nucleus, PSOS+, OSE, RTC, VRTX, ...
