Fax interception module
Netbricks Fax demodulation module allows the extraction of the Fax images exchanged by two fax machines, connected to the PSTN, through the analysis of the input sampled signals. The analysis includes startup signal analysis, fax demodulation and page compression decoding in order to output a Bitmap file for each Fax image that was transmitted. The detection of the fax session parameters (Modulations, Bitrate, Image coding, Error Correction Mode (ECM)) is automatic. Customer's project using Dmod-Bricks includes real time processing and off line analysis on recorded samples streams.
DMOD-BRICKS Fax module supports the following features:
| Input Formats |
PCM samples format should follow ITU-T G.711 (8kHz, 8 bits A/ µ law or 8/16 bits linear). |
Probe access |
mono-directionnal samples from originate side only is enough with low level of echo
to extract control channel info. |
| Modulations |
V.21,
V.27ter, V.29, V.17 and V.34hdx.
|
| Protocols |
T.30 monitoring and Error Correction Mode (ECM) will be recognized and processed and the analysis software is able to decode the page If start of stream samples does not coincide with the start of the communication (i.e. missing T.30 handshaking). |
| Page Decoding |
Fax Group 3 T.4 mono & bi-dimensional, Fax Group 4 T.6, JPEG, JBIG. |
Output Format |
Bitmap (BMP) and TIFF multipage |
Erroneous Frame Recovery |
Erroneous frames can be recovered by powerful feedback iterative algorithm based on Fax ECM HDLC frame checking. This feature is crucial for T.6 image coding because any erroneous or missing frame would cause a page truncation.
